Discount codes allow you to offer your clients the ability to put fixed amount or percentage decreases or increases to your advertised prices.

Creating a discount code

Once you've enabled the Discount codes bolt-on feature from the Plan & bolt-ons page, click on Discount codes from the left hand side menu and click Create code to create a discount code.

Add the name of your discount code that your customers will enter within the Code field ensuring that there aren’t any unnecessary spaces.

Add an internal reference for your discount code under Code name (for internal use only). Please note that customers will not be able to see this reference.

Select a date that your discount code can start being used from and until using the calendars under This code can be redeemed from / until.

You can add any additional information you may wish to make accessible to your customers when they click on the Additional information button on the payments screen during the booking flow within the Additional information field.

Selecting what your discount code can be used for

You can set what type of object your discount code can be used with by ticking the checkbox next to one or more of the following options; Sessions, Courses, Bundles, Passes and/or Memberships.

Please note that a discount code cannot be used directly on an on-demand resource. To achieve this you would create a one credit bundle for the discount code to be used on and then the customer can use this bundle credit to purchase the on-demand resource.

The default selection for any that you tick will be all, but you can also edit it so that your discount code is only used for specific instances by clicking the Edit button on the right hand side of the object.

After clicking the Edit button, you can choose whether your discount code is valid for All current and future sessions or Specific sessions only.

You would click All current and future sessions within the top bar on this pop up if you'd like your discount code to be valid for any sessions you've already created and will create in the future

If you click Specific sessions, you can navigate within your Schedule to manually select which sessions you would like to enable your discount code to be valid for. If you'd like all sessions within a series to be valid for your discount code, then you can click the Add all future instances of this series button just to the right of a specific session. If you'd like your discount code to be valid for all current but not any future sessions, you can click Select all displayed sessions and if you'd like to start the selection process again you can click Deselect all. .

Once you've decided which sessions you'd like your discount code to be valid for, click Apply selection.

Setting the amount of discount

Next you will set whether your discount code will Discount the price i.e decrease or Increase the price.

You can choose to decrease or increase the price by A fixed amount or by a Percentage and then enter the amount under the Amount field.

Limiting the use of your discount code

You can choose whether your discount code's use is limited to Specific customers, based on A total number of redemptions or whether it has No limit.

If you’ve ticked Specific customers you can then click Edit customers list in order to select who you’d like to give access to.

If you've ticked A total number of redemptions and want to limit the total number of times that you want this code to be redeemed, then you may want to enter a figure within the Total number of redemptions allowed field.

An example of when you might use this setting is if you ran a promotion where the first 20 customers who booked onto a session received a discount. This would mean that you would enter “20” within this field.

Please note that this is a total limit on customer redemptions, not an individual one.

In order to limit the amount of individual uses your discount code has you can tick the checkbox next to Cap at 1 redemption per customer to add an individual cap.

The Restrictions for classes where multibook is enabled field allows you to set whether you want your discount code only to be used when booking a specific number of places.

Click Create code to create your discount code

You'll now see your new discount code in the Active section if you've configured it to be valid from the day that you created it. If the start date on your discount code is a date in the future, then it will live within the Expired section until this selected date when it will then move to the Active section.

You can always expire or edit your discount code at any time from this page as well.
