The difference between a Fixed and Flexible membership is primarily in the customer's ability to cancel before the end of the membership term.
Fixed memberships can only be cancelled early by a business admin or failed payments. The admin can choose to cancel a membership immediately or at the end of the customer’s current billing period. With both cancellation actions, admins will have the option to automatically cancel all future bookings that take place after the new expiry date that were booked using the membership.
Flexible memberships allow the customer to cancel their membership themselves. Any sessions booked using the membership that take place in future billing periods (i.e. billing periods that will no longer take place) will automatically be cancelled when the customer actions their membership cancellation. As with fixed memberships, business admins will also have the ability to cancel a customer’s flexible membership immediately or at the end of their current billing period.
The other key difference between these membership types is during the purchase flow. A fixed membership will display the total length of the membership term and the total cost incurred to the customer for all scheduled membership payments. Flexible memberships will not show this information.
