How do I change the payment methods on my memberships?

If you have an existing membership where you wish to change the selected payment method, you can easily do this by:

  1. Creating a new membership using the Copy an existing package button on the package creation page to copy this existing membership’s settings where you’d then select your new payment method.

  2. Expiring any customer’s existing instances of this old membership or allowing them to naturally expire.

  3. Removing this old membership from sale.

  4. Placing this new membership on sale.

  5. Customers can then manually purchase this new membership using the new payment method to set up their recurring payment straight away or once their existing membership has naturally expired.

Customers can easily update the payment card or payment method (if the membership in question has both Stripe or GymcatchPay and GoCardless selected as payment methods) for their existing membership by following the steps in this article.

If you are already using Stripe for membership payments and are planning to let customer's existing memberships expire naturally, you will want to keep your Stripe account connected in the Payment processors page so that historic purchases continue to bill.
